According to a newly released survey by Consumer Reports (May, 2012), Trane air conditioners rate among the industrys least repaired outdoor units. While Trane logged the second fewest repairs (only 12%) as rated by more than 40,000 readers, American Standard ranked the best (11% repairs). The magazines previous consumer survey (July, 2009) had Trane air conditioners one percentage point off the lead (11% to 10%) held at that time by Rheem. Trane continues to be the industrys most recognizable name primarily because of the manufacturers consistent top three ranking on surveys like Consumer Reports. This most recent survey even went so far as to suggest consumers steer clear of Amana and Goodman AC units because of a high probability of repair. This data was based on responses from the magazines readers who had bought central air conditioners or heat pumps from 2005 through mid-2011. Hetter Heating & Cooling is a proud partner with Trane having installed Trane air conditioners, gas furnaces & heat pumps now for over a decade.
